Frances Sill (Teacher) VIEW PROFILE

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Frances Hicks Sill, 90, of Camden, SC, will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Bethesda Presbyterian Church. Rev. John Hallman will officiate. The family will receive friends in John Knox Hall immediate following the service until 12:30 PM. A 1:00 PM burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Sill’s memory to Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 502 DeKalb Street, Camden, SC 29020 or Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Disorder Association-Mid-State-SC, 140 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 210, Columbia, SC 29210.

Frances Hicks Sill, widow of Robert Murry Sill, died Sunday, July 26, 2015. She was born in Boiling Springs, NC, the daughter of the late Robert Zeno Hicks and Minnie Justice Hicks. Mrs. Sill was a 1946 graduate of Winthrop College and was a lifelong educator who retired from the Kershaw County School District after 37 years of service. She was awarded outstanding vocational Home-Ec teacher of the year for South Carolina in 1985. Mrs. Sill was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and was a member, former Elder, and former moderator of Presbyterian Women at Bethesda Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Sill is survived by her son, Murry Hicks Sill (Ricky) of Miami, FL; daughter, Anne S. Demby (Eddie) of Kershaw, SC; grandchildren, Jennifer Demby Dasinger (Tim), Marlin S. Sill and Savannah Sill; and great-grandchildren, Kailen Jamey Dasinger, Paisleigh Mae Dasinger, Adilyn Brooke Dasinger and devoted friend, Polly Todd.

Mrs. Sill was predeceased by her grandson, Jamey Edward Demby and 6 brothers and sisters.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Morningside of Camden and Springdale Healthcare for all their love and care for their mother.
