Jack De Howitt

Jack R. De Howitt, Jr., 57, of Hollywood, Florida passed away August 8, 2016 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation will be held at Fred Hunters in Ft. Lauderdale on August 13, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Memorial Service will follow at 12 p.m. 

Jack was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Norma Jean and Jack R. De Howitt, Sr. on October 11, 1958. He graduated from Camden High School in 1976. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from the College of Charleston in 1981. He was a Licensed Real Estate Broker and commercial real estate developer and was Vice President at The Kelsey Group, Inc. for 28 years. He was a loyal member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Hollywood, where he also played the drums with the worship team. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

Jack is preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean De Howitt. Jack is survived by his wife, Debbie De Howitt, of Hollywood; daughter Danielle Marie De Howitt of Boston; daughter Audrey Nicole De Howitt Chatkevicius and son-in-law Laimonas Chatkevicius of Hollywood; father Jack R. De Howitt, Sr. of Columbia, SC; sister Brigitte Junis of Columbia; sister Amanda (Michael) Steck of Columbia; and sister Stacy (Susie) De Howitt of Columbia.

The family is grateful to hospice nurses who provided care and comfort to Jack and to them. If anyone would prefer to make a donation in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
